There are some plants in the garden that never cross my mind until the make an almost miracolous appearance in full flower!
Such a plant is Parahebe catarractae ‘Avalanche’. It has its spot close to the path on the way down the garden near the path to the Stream.

so it sits there, being smothered by its neighbours for most of the year. When I do the Spring tidy of that border I trim it back a little to tidy it up but apart from that I do nothing! Then suddenly on a May morning, or maybe a June one, as I return from the compost heap, there she is! In all her glory! and I resolve once more to pay more attention to this little beauty! Parahebe catarractae ‘Avalanche’ . Isn’t she worth waiting for!
Definitely worth waiting for Hazel. I have a smaller one just called Parahebe cataracttae. Great little plants and they take easily from cuttings too.
